I Love Stencil Machines >>> The Marsh design was created using authentic 1-inch stencils made by a late Marsh model R machine. Marsh, a stencil machine manufacturer, had been in operation since 1922, making them the fourth company worldwide to produce stencil machines, alongside Bradley, Diagraph, and Ideal. Marsh producing stencil machines for stencil sizes of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch, with minor differences between the type sizes. The letter design of the Marsh stencil punches are based on a thin, slightly narrow sans-serif typeface, and it strictly adheres to a monospaced format. Marsh stencil machines, like those of competitors Bradley-Diagraph and Ideal, were used by the U.S. Army and Navy, especially during World War II and the Korean War.
