Vtg Stencil Spain No.2

The design of the Spanish stencils (Abecedario de chapa, Plantillas Abecedario) is closely related to classic French stencil letters. However, unlike the French versions, the Spanish stencils are produced using a drilling process rather than being punch-cut. They feature much bolder letterforms and more rounded serifs. Some details — such as the letter Q or the figure 7 — differ noticeably, but overall the design clearly reveals its French roots.

These stencils can still be found in local hardware stores, naval metal workshops and DIY stores, ranging from 15 mm to 100 mm in size. Larger custom sizes from 120 mm to 600 mm are made on demand. These oversized stencil letters can often be found in Spanish parking lots.
