#BROADCAST - END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA) - astype fonts

For use of astype fonts on streaming channel, platforms, video titles and broadcasting stations.

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement” or “EULA”) is a legally binding contract between you (the “Licensee”) and Andreas Seidel (“ASTYPE”). By downloading, installing, or using the Font Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

  1. Definitions

Font Software: Software that renders typeface designs, including all digital files and documentation.

Licensed Project: The specific audiovisual project (title) or campaign designated in your documentation. (e.g like a Netflix Series, Documentation, TV Show, or Advertisment)

Licensed Channel: A specific audiovisual streaming, social media or TV channel. (e.g Channel on an online video platforms or TV station)

  1. Grant of License

You are granted a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for one (1) Licensed Project and/or one (1) Licensed Channel, as specified in your invoice or license.

If your license is based on the number of subscribers or followers for a Licensed Channel, you are required to verify annually that your channel’s subscriber/follower count remains within the limits covered by your Broadcast license. In the event of under-licensing, you are obliged to obtain an appropriate additional license to ensure full compliance.

  1. Permitted Use
  • Creation of static, non-editable text elements (titles, captions, graphics) permanently rasterized or outlined in the video.
  • Font installation is allowed on devices used exclusively for this Licensed Project by your employees and direct contractors specifically assigned to and working on that project/campaign.
  • Use is limited strictly to the designated project/campaign.
  • Modify the character outlines for static use only, without generating or distributing new font files.
  1. Prohibited Use / Restrictions
  • No use in other media/projects not covered by this license.
  • No use in websites, apps, ebooks, or OEM products (requires separate license).
  • No sharing, lending, sublicensing, or redistributing the Font Software.
  • No embedding or distribution in editable or template form.
  • No uploading to public repositories or sharing platforms.
  • No use for AI/machine learning, modification, or conversions.
  • No modification, reverse engineering, or creation of derivative works.
  1. Backup and Archival

Backup copies may be made only for internal archival purposes and must remain under your exclusive control. Private cloud repositories require authentication by you or your employees.

  1. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All rights remain with ASTYPE. You do not acquire ownership of the Font Software.

  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Restrictions

Use of the Font Software or images from it for any AI or machine learning purposes is strictly prohibited.

  1. License Termination

ASTYPE has the right to terminate your license immediately if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, all use must stop and all copies must be deleted.

  1. Warranty and Liability

ASTYPE is not liable for damages resulting from use or misuse of the Font Software.

  1. Governing Law and Final Provisions

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Jurisdiction lies with German courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded. Should any provision of this Agreement be found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
